Appy and Gmaw visit

There is something about seeing this white Tahoe drive up that makes all of us smile. Appy (my mom) and Gmaw (my grandmother and the 3L's great grandmother) live about 8 hours away from us. Every once in awhile we get a special visit from them and it pure joy to see them! Sometimes I think God knows just the right time to send them my way.Landry made Gmaw a flower at school that he has been waiting to give her.
These two ladies mean the world to me! I can't imagine my life without them.

This February Gmaw will turn 90. She sure doesn't act her age! She can still beat me in a race. ha!

After a long day we took a quick little family picture. Landry had decided he was done with pictures awhile back. ha!
These two are peas in a pod. Lauren reminds me a lot of my grandmother. Funny, smart, and sassy.
What I would give to have them closer to me! It is always good to have them here.
Love you mom and gmaw~Rob

Mac and Cheese....

Can be a mom's best friend. Ha!
Truthfully, I think these two wished I just fixed this for them every night. It is the simple things in life that slows down my busy day and make me smile. These two boys were so excited about mac and cheese. This just cracked me up! Why can't I get excited over things like this? Being an adult stinks:)
(See how I tried to add a little bit of healthy in there with grapes? ha.)

I just love these two boys!

It has been busy at our house.

Almost like we have a new baby. Well, more like 10 babies. This weekend we worked on putting them on a schedule. That helped! They eat 3,6,9,12 and that includes middle of the nights. I am so thankful for a hubby who gets up with me. Through our tired eyes and blurred vision at early hours in the morning we can't help but smile at these little guys. God does some amazing work. Each one is so unique and different. Can you see the heart on this one? Lola has been a super mom. The octo-mom has nothing on her. ha! She really is so gentle and loving. She lets us know when it is time to feed. Poor girl is going to need a super bra after this.

The 3L's have loved holding these guys. They are so soft, cuddly, and fun to watch. I know this time with go fast so we are just cherishing having puppies at our house.

Lola had 11 puppies tonight!

Boy, where we ALL surprised too! The vet thought a week ago that she would only have 5 or 6 so you can imagine the shock we are in. Our sweet girl did great! She has always been such a loving dog and now she is loving on all her pups tonight (with our help of course). Life just got a little more interesting here at the Reed house!
Here is my sweet girl in labor. The 3L's were soooo excited!

11 puppies

One little sad note, we lost one tonight. She just never did breathe right from the time we brought her home. Sweet baby girl pup! We have 5 girls now and 5 boys.

Well, I hear lots of noises so I am sure it is time to eat!
Gotta help Lola out. Ha!

Closing the door on one chapter and on to the next!

I have been pretty luck when it comes to my nursing career. I have met some wonderful nurses who I look up to and they have become lifetime friends. On Tuesday, I closed the chapter in my nursing career as a surgery nurse. For sometime now the Lord has laid it upon my heart to get back into the field of nursing with kids. I started off as a NICU nurse, then a Pediatric ER nurse, and even a pediatric nurse for 12 doctors in Iowa. Children are my specialty and I feel like it is what I know best when it comes to nursing.
When we moved back to Texas a good friend gave me the opportunity to work as a surgery nurse a couple days a week and the rest stay at home with my youngest. It was the best of both worlds. Being a nurse which I LOVE and being a mommy which will always TOP every job I have ever had. With Landry almost in kindergarten my heart has been heavy to get back into peds. I just started praying about it. It amazes me how quickly God can act sometimes! The next week I got an offer to be a school nurse one day a week for a private school here in town. (the 3L's all have gone to preK here and loved it!) I took the job with pure excitement because I knew it was a gift from God. I love getting to take Landry to school and seeing him in the halls!
Then the Lord opened up more doors and put me into the Midway schools as a nurse. I am truly grateful for where He is taking me in my nursing career.
With all of that being said, I can't help but feel a little sad leaving these sweet nurses. They have been so much fun to work with and excellent nurses by my side. I am going to miss the skills.....starting IVs, scrubbing in on a surgery, sedating patients, and even the doctors goofy jokes.

3L's since this blog is for you, I hope you always follow your dreams and listen to your heart.
God can take you to some amazing places in your life and let you meet some wonderful people who will forever be in your heart.

Spreading the love....or more like germs!

Landry was doing better until this evening. His temp is back. Lauren came home from school yesterday with it. She is on Tamiflu....and now I guess it is my turn. I am under the weather now. This too shall pass! Right? Anyhoo, Casey and Luke are hanging in there. I really don't feel as bad as them so maybe mine is mild:)

Ready for the weekend!

It's Positive...

for Flu. Sweet Lanny Love just got back from the doctor with the news he tested positive for the Flu. As bad as this news is it kind of was good news in a way. It wasn't strep! If it was strep then we would have to be going through so much right now trying a new antibiotic from our Ped. Immunologist. I HATE to see my little guy this way. This is breaking my heart to see him so down. There is SO MUCH of it going around here.
Stay well my friends~

I knew this day was coming.....

I knew this day was coming, with 2 boys in the house they have been asking what is all this Star Wars stuff about? They see it in the stores and in their McDonald toys so I asked a friend if I could borrow her DVD (because she has two older boys and I knew they were into this) So what did they watch??
STAR WARS!
The 3L's curled up on the bed and watched in awwww......
What have I done??? I have opened up a new can of worms at the Reed house.
They loved it!

Until it got to the part with Darth Vader. I found that they had built a pillow fort to watch from. ha!
I remember when I was a kid my mom took my two older brothers and me to the movies to see this. I wasn't happy going cause it was a boy movie but I loved it! I wanted to be Princess Leia. Now my sweet Lauren wants to be her.
This makes me feel old.
Luke really like it too.
I think partly because of he and Luke Skywalker sharing the same name.

Such a fun movie!

Comfy Pants

Two words....Love them!
This is one thing I look forward to when fall rolls around.
I put on my new pair of comfy pants. Awww....nothing better than a pair of soft, comfortable pj pants. It is raining outside, the hubby is nestled on the couch watching football, and the 3L's are watching a movie. As for me? I just put on my comfy pants and about to watch a movie too.
Gotta love weekends!
Here I am modeling this years 2009 comfy pants from Old Navy! Some women have a huge collection of shoes as for me I have a huge collection of comfy pants.
Have a nice weekend~Robin in her comfy pants:)

We are expecting!

Puppies that is......sorry, the factory is closed here. ha! Our sweet English Bulldog, Lola, is due to have puppies around the 21st of September. We took her to the vet on Friday and the x-ray said 5-6 puppies. We are so excited over here! Last year we let Lola have puppies and it was so much fun for our family (work too!)
We will be selling the puppies again.
I am working on another blog that will be up soon about her pups.
Can you believe this belly?
She looks like a pig doesn't she? ha!
Sweet dog!

Carl's Corner

There is a place in between Dallas and Waco off of I35 called Carl's Corner. One of my dearest friend's dad is Carl who used to own this big nice truck stop for many years and now Willie Nelson owns it. This place is where my good friend grew up. I have heard some great stories about this place so on our way back from Dallas we couldn't resist stopping to take some pictures to surprise them with.

Willie Nelson Bio-Diesel.
Such a nice store and the 3L's enjoyed waling around in it.
Luke found him a fancy cowboy hat too!
Nemec family we loved getting to see the store!
