Kyndall Update

I received an email today from my sister-inlaw that put perspective on my day. I know she won't mind me sharing because if you followed Kyndall's story from the start you know what an answered prayer this is.

Her email hit home and made me count my blessings one more time today!

This morning was hectic! I taught my spin class, then had to get ready to take Kyndall to an 8:00 doctor’s appointment, get Griffen ready for school, make two lunches, and do all the other typical Monday stuff. Brett was trying to get out the door for work and an overnight in Birmingham, and it was stressful. In the midst of all of that, Kyndall and I had our daily “that’s too much eyeliner”, “no, it’s not” discussion. I was still aggravated when we got to the doctor’s office. She wasn’t sick or anything...just needed a physical so she could try out for the track team. They called us back, and the nurse went through her part of the exam, then the doctor came in...one that we had not seen in a year or so. She examined Kyndall, then she sat down to look through her chart. I watched her read the summary of Kyndall’s accident which had been sent over from Children's, and her face changed pretty drastically. She looked at me and said, “That was a pretty serious accident.” It kind of hit me then that my child, who could not walk eight months ago, was about to try out for the track team, and is completely healthy and normal...or as normal as a 12-year-old girl can be. :) I realized how much I continue to take for granted, and how fortunate I am to have her here to argue with about eyeliner. I hope you are all doing a better job at appreciating the truly important things in life than I have been lately. If you’re not, you can start today. I plan to do much, much better. Not sure why I felt compelled to share that, but I did, so there it is. Have a great afternoon!
Love,
Julie.
