You're gonna miss this

is what I am telling myself right now.
There is nothing like lazy days of summer.
Swimming in the pool with the 3L's,

going to a movie with a good friend,

enjoying the indoor tunnels at Burger King (when it is 106 outside)

and meeting friends for library story time.

I am going to miss this!
These are some good times.

"Mom, I don't need a sister"

are the words I heard from Lauren as she called me to the kitchen to come see what was going on. Whoa Nelly....daddy isn't going to like this. ha! jk.
I have figured it out as to why these 2 boys will dress up for Lauren.
1.) Luke will do anything for a laugh.
2.) Landry hasn't figured out yet that he CAN say no to his sister.
3.) I found the stash of candy she has been paying them to dress up.
haha! Oh my stars......
Seriously Luke, where did you learn to pose like that?

This cracks me up!
Three L's.....this momma loves you so much!

Treat charts and cooking with mom

This summer I started a treat chart for the 3L's. They were needing a little motivation on cleaning their rooms, picking up their toys, and being nice to each other. To be honest, I got tired of hearing myself saying the same things over and over to them and feel like nobody is listening! I thought there has to be a way of getting through to them. So I came up with the treat chart. Each L has one placed on their bedroom door to help them remember their chores for the day. IF they have done all of their chores for the day (yes, I have said no way Jose! Try again tomorrow) then they get a star on their chart. After 6 stars in a row (they get one day off. That may soon change. ha!) then they can draw from their treat jar. In each jar I wrote out several pieces of paper with fun things to do on them and special treats to go get. Examples are: a trip to your favorite park, a snow cone, have a friend over, pick your favorite candy from the dollar store, and cooking with mommy. This week Luke drew from the jar making a cake with mom, Landry drew decorating cookies with mom, and Lauren drew pick out a movie from the $1 Redbox machine. This has been the best trick with the 3L's! My house is a little neater and all I have to do is remind them "Do you want a sticker today? You better leave your sister alone" ha.
Here is Luke and I making an orange train cake with orange icing. His choice!
(I have to say that I loved spending one on one time in the kitchen with them)

Then it was Landry's turn. He chose blue icing and sprinkles to decorate his cookies.

Fourth of July with the Hoodies

First of all, what is a Hoodie? In case you didn't know a Hoodie is a friend who lives right in your neighborhood. We are very blessed to live by such wonderful families! Our kids, our hubbies, and these precious Hewitt Housewives all care about each other AND we love to have some fun together! One of our dearest Hoodies (Pam on the far left) moved out of the Hood. We have been missing them since they have been gone. They moved to this BEAUTIFUL place in Crawford. I mean beautiful! The Guderian family was so gracious to have all the Hoodies over for a Fourth of July celebration. We couldn't wait!We had to get them a house warming gift so we had this awesome cake made for the party.
"From the Hood to the Woods" It was the funniest cake I had ever seen. The Hood side was so proper and beautiful but the Wood side was true redneck! It even came with a toilet/flower pot by the trailer house. (This is soooooo not what they live in now. Which made it even funnier)

We came ready to celebrate!
Yes, that is MY man. Don't be jealous friends. haha!

FUN TIMES!

Brother from another mother.
(Hey Mindy, what if you have another boy that looks like Landry? Landry could have TWO brothers from another mother. ha!)

The 3L's were having the best time.

Sweet lil' Hoodie girls
and crazy lil' Hoodie boys!
I loved spending time with my girlfriends

and loved spending time with my Honey
We even had a First 4th of July lil' Hoodie at the party.

Here are the stars of the night! The robe was another gag gift.
We sure miss them in the Hood but loved catching up with them.

Hoodie Men
Hoodie Women
It was ONE FUN day!
To me Fourth of July is a day we celebrate our Freedom and the men and women who gave (and are giving) so much for this awesome country we live in. I am so thankful for this day!
I am also thankful for all of these Hoodies and lil' Hoodies in mine and my family's life.
