Saying prayers for my oldest brother Brett and his family

Things aren't looking so good for my family in New Orleans right now. My oldest brother and his family live in Mandeville which is right next to New Orleans. Hurricane Gustav is headed their direction. They are trying to decide which way to evacuate before the storm hits. The roads are already congested and if he comes my way it could literally take forever to get here. (last time people were stranded on the roads to here for 2 days) It is hard to imagine them going through this again after going through Katrina three years ago. Just when things were being rebuilt, morale was up, and people were starting to move past all of the damage that was done. Here we go again. Our hearts and prayers are with all of these people during this scary time. Here is a picture of my two brothers, Chad and Brett.

Excuse the no makeup here. ha! This was taken early Christmas morning last year.

I have come to realize that I really only have one good picture of Brett! He is the jokester of the family. Bless Julie's heart. ha!

These two together can bring some serious trouble (in a good way).

My precious nephew and niece who we miss sooooo much!

Kyndall, Brett, and Griff

Kyndall is not only Lauren's cousin but one of her best friends. These two girls together brings lots of girl talk, giggling, and secrets in each others ears.

Praying for you guys~

Almost done!

Landry got a kick out of watching the pool workers lay the concrete today and I got a kick out watching him watch them. Looks like we are a week away from putting water in this hole in our backyard. yeah!

Landry is really missing Lauren and Luke this week. Every morning he wants to go to his school. Mommy is just not cutting it. ha!

First Day of School for the 3L's

Today was the first day of school for Lauren the fourth grader, Luke the kindergartner, and Landry the new kid at Miss Heather's school . The morning was so crazy getting 3 kids ready for school. I think being so busy really helped me not think about my new little kindergartner (that is until we hit school. oh my!). After rushing through breakfast we made it out to the front porch for some first day school pictures. Beautiful Lauren ready for her first day of fourth grade. She melts our hearts in a hurry!

It was hard to say goodbye to her this morning. Growing up way to fast!

The 3L's together on their first day.

I feel like I am one of the luckiest moms!

One lucky Dad too!
Luke was ready for kindergarten. He didn't skip a beat today and didn't seem nervous one bit.

Oh, this picture warms my heart. Look at my little man on his way!

2 kids at Spring Valley Elementary school.

One last hug from Dad and Landry. It was time to let him go.......

One last hug from Mom. It was time to let him go.........(tears flowing!!!!)

And then there was one, my Lanny Bob.

Landry was READY for his school with Miss Heather.

Here she is, sweetheart Miss Heather.

This afternoon when I went to pick up all the 3L's it seems everyone had a GREAT day. Lots of new friends, favorite teachers, and talk about what tomorrow will be like. Lauren told Luke that he better smile at her in the halls or else! haha. Casey and I made it through today. There were some tears that were shed but they were all HAPPY tears for the 3L's. Overall, it was a good first day of school!

Happy Birthday Dad!

Happy Birthday Grandad! We love you so very much~Lauren, Luke, and Landry A very important man in my life is having a birthday this week, my Dad. My dad is everything to me. I don't think I tell him that often enough. I knew from an early age that I wanted to marry someone just like him. He is a good father, loving grandad, funny,
awesome fisherman, loves God, one of the most giving people you will ever meet (he literally would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it), awesome cook (nobody does brisket like my Dad),
master gardner (look at this!)
hard worker (he never sits still), loves my Mom, a get-R-done kind of guy, loyal, strong hands (he always needs lotion on them), encourager, one of the first people I call when I need an honest opinion,

George Strait fan (well maybe not as much as me, but I will never forget going to a concert with my Dad when I was little. George reminds me of my Dad), cattleman, good at his job (Hey, Beef it's what's for dinner!), best prayer (he can make anyone cry in a prayer),

Dog lover (here with sweet Shanea who passed away this year. He has a new one now named Jade that I can't wait to meet),
a loving grandad with the best lap to read books on,

Landry's buddy,

has the best trains that Luke asks about all the time,

Clark "Sparky" Griswald of the family,
My list could truly go on about my dad. He is my everything! Happy Birthday Daddy. I love you and miss you so much. Days go by that I wish more than ever we lived closer just so I could spend more time with you. I don't tell you enough how much you mean to me....you do!
