Sometimes you just have to let them go....

Being a parent isn't always easy and sometimes you just have to let them go.
Landry decided to run away from home one day this week. He had been in trouble for not listening (and had been given many chances to start listening) and was put in time out. Soon after being placed in time out, which is his room, we heard the front door shut. He made up his little mind that he had enough of time out and decided he would just leave. Casey and I were a little shocked. He even stopped to tell Lauren on the way out that he was "running away" from home. We aren't even sure where he learned this? Both of us watched him through the front window as he walked to the end of the sidewalk to our mailbox and just stand there looking around. Then the tears started to come. He changed his mind....... Please know that we would NEVER want our children to EVER do something like this. At 5 years of age this little one had made up his mind he had had enough. Casey and I, together, made the decision to help him understand if he really did something like this how BAD this would be......for him and for us.
This is how the rest of it went......(please do not judge us on our decision we made for our child).......we were simply trying to help him understand the consequence of his little decision.
He came back to the front door and it was locked. He
rang the doorbell. We answered saying, "Can we help you?"
Landry in tears said, "I live here"
(Us)"Well, there used to be a little boy who lived here but he ran away from home. It broke our hearts and we cry everyday cause we miss him soooo very much. We don't know where he lives now? His family is so sad. He left cause he got mad at us and we just wanted to help teach him right from wrong. Sometimes mommies and daddies do things that little kids don't always like but it is because they LOVE them sooo very much and are trying to teach them important things"
(Landry ) "I am right here mommy"
HUGE HUGS

Then back to time out..........cause we wanted him to know still what he did was wrong. Then daddy came in and talked more to him about his little decision. It was soooooo hard watching my baby boy walk out that door! As a child I don't think I would have ever done something like that. I know he only went to the mailbox but......wow. The rest of the evening was full of HUGS and LOVE for this sweet boy. He said right before bedtime how sorry he was for running away and that he would miss his family soooo much too.

I normally don't post our family drama but this is for Landry.

Landry Love~ Since this blog is for you 3L's to read someday, I want you to know it was hard on daddy and I not to chase right after you as you walked through that front door. Sometimes we just have to let you go............and I am sure this will not be the last time we will have to let you go in life and learn from your choices. No matter RIGHT or WRONG decisions you make you can always count on being LOVED and supported from mommy and daddy. We pray over you every night. Your hopes, dreams, future, etc.
Sweet Landry Love~Your family Loves you!

Taking the Lil' Hoodies to meet Hudson

It has been a fun little tradition to take the lil'hoodies (kids from the neighborhood) to meet their new little buddy. We did this a year ago when sweet Elizabeth had her baby. Turned out to be so much fun. We take turns watching the kids in the lobby while one family goes in to see the baby. Last time we stayed a good hour afterwards in the lobby while the kids played. We called it "Hotel Hillcrest" until we got threatened to be kicked out from having too much fun. ha! Well, this time we tried to be on better behavior.
Still it was so much fun for all to come meet this sweet baby boy! Excited to meet Hudson
Aww....there is the beautiful mommy with her bundle of love.
Hudson looks just like his brother Walker who looks just like our Landry. We had to have them take a picture.
Yeah! Another brother from another mother.
Lauren got to hold the newest lil'hoodie.
Precious as can be!

We can't wait to watch him grow and see him run around in the neighborhood with all of the other kids.
Welcome to the Hood, Hudson!

Welcome to the World Baby Love!

One of my best friends had her baby boy yesterday.
Hudson Jack Pierce is perfect in every way! I got a phone call in the middle of the night Saturday to come watch her other two sweet kiddos while she went to the hospital. It was pure excitement at 2am! Who could sleep knowing a little gift from God was on his way? Mindy texted me with her progress and he arrived a little after 7:30 Sunday morning. Healthy and perfect!
Big Bro and Big Sis were SUPER excited to meet their new baby brother!
Here they are........Pierce Family Party of 5!

God bless this sweet family as they come home soon and enjoy this new bundle of life!
Love you guys~RoRo
