What a sight to see on our way to school this morning!

As I was taking Landry to school the Curves
balloons were taking off across the street from us. Of course we had to pull over and watch. Wow! They are so big in person. I am not sure I could ever go up in one of those. Landry had me rolling when he asked "Mom, if you stick a needle in them will they go round and round in the sky?" ha! Landry climbed out the sunroof to watch them go.
(yikes, looking at this picture I see that I forgot to brush someones hair this morning!)
What a way to send off a kid to school!
I hope he doesn't expect this in the morning.

Love you Landry Love!~mom

Happy Birthday to a VERY special lady in my life!

That would be my grandmother, Katherine. She turned 90!
Doesn't she look amazing? It is so hard to believe she is that old now. She sure doesn't act her age. ha! This woman can still out walk me, beat me in any game, out cook me, and is probably healthier than I am. She doesn't take one single medicine at age 90.
This weekend we flew to my hometown to join our family and friends in celebrating 90 years of a WONDERFUL woman. It was truly amazing! There was over 230 people there. Plus, all of her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.
My grandmother is loved! My mom and aunt worked hard on making this party so wonderful.
We appreciate everything they did!
It was also wonderful to see cousins again!
Here is Lauren and Kyndall.
Lauren loves her so much and just looks up to her.

The party took place at my grandmother's assisted living/nursing home.
The kids had fun trying out the pianos.
We had a photographer come and capture this special day.
Grandma and her kids (plus their spouses)
We still miss Grandad and Aunt Linda so much!

Gma had so many special people there that day.
Her very best friend Helen Bailey came to see her.
Grandma and her great grandkids.
What a blessing to have all of them there!

Our family LOVES a good joke! I have always told gma (what I call her) that one of these days I am going to send in her picture to Willard Scott on the Today Show for her 100th birthday. We playfully argue back and forth about me doing this so this birthday I thought I would give her a preview! I bought a Smuckers jelly jar (because that is always the 100th birthday sponsor) and placed her picture on it.
She thought it was funny!

My brothers and cousin, Steven, had brought their little joke gift too. When they were young boys they had got into Grandma's Scope mouthwash and drank it all. She spanked them. THEN they went to the other bathroom and drank that one too. Over the years she has threatened them that they weren't too big to bend over her knee still.

We ate cake, talked about old times, and made new memories.
Even cousins who had never met before enjoyed each other.

After the BIG party we ate brisket burritos that my dad is famous for and....
played cards.
What a great trip.
Happy Birthday Gma!
You are an AMAZING lady and have taught me so much over the years. I always look forward to seeing you when you come with mom to see me. We laugh, pull jokes on each other, and share some secrets together. I can't imagine my life without you! You always make my heart smile and I love you so dearly. You mean so much to me.
When I grow up I want to be just like you Gma~Robin
