Bluebonnets in Central Texas

I love spring! One of the perks of living in Central Texas is the beauty you see on the side of the roads. I will never forget in the Spring of 2003 Casey and I left Lauren and Luke with grandparents in Iowa as we flew to look for a house in Texas. We had been wanting to move back to our home state since the day we left in 1999. God had answered our prayers to be closer to family. I had never been to Waco all my life so as we were getting closer to Waco I saw the most beautiful purplish-blue flowers all over the side of the roads. It was icing on the cake to me! Every since we have lived here now I get a picture of my children in the wild flowers. It reminds me of God's beauty. The beautiful flowers and our beautiful children. Here are some of this years bluebonnet pictures.

Lola had her puppies!

Monday night at around 8pm Lola was ready to have these pups. She had an emergency c-section at 10pm. We have 4 handsome boys and 2 cute girls! They are so darn cute and the kids are having a blast. Lola is a real good mother to them. We have to watch her because she likes to pile them up and then sit on them like a hen does. ha! Casey and I have been helping her fed the puppies at night. The first night they ate every 30 minutes. It was a looooooong night. The second night they did much better and ate every 1-2 hours. It is a lot of work having new puppies but it is worth the smiles it brings to Lauren, Luke, and Landry's faces. Here are some pictures of the "Peanut Gang". We have Linus, Lucy, Sally, Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and Pig Pen.
