Neighborhood Egg Hunt

I could be wrong but I think this is the 5th year of doing this??? Help me out Hoodies! I just know that this is something that the 3L's always look forward to at Easter time. Hunting eggs all over the neighbors yard is so much fun!
We always do our annual Easter picture with all of the kids.
Wow, this group has grown!!!
Luke is always determined to be the first one to finish. You can tell by how red his face is!
So much Fun in the Hood!

To be surrounded by so many great families is a pure blessing from above!

Easter Weekend

Our Easter was really special because the 3L's got to spend it with their cousin Zoe.
She is just a doll!
Those sweet little curls can melt your heart in a hurry!

It was such a wonderful time to spend it with the ones you Love!

The Easter Bunny made a visit while Zoe was here.
He must have heard how windy it has been here because he stuck kites in all the baskets. Everyone couldn't wait to give them a good try.

It was a joyous weekend spending time together and celebrating our Savior has risen!

My SUPERSTAR!

It is that time of year again.....TAKS test time. That ugly state required test that is given to students that they must pass in order to move onto the next grade. YUK! My sweet 5th grader was all set this morning to ace her Math Taks.

We have a couple of rituals we do every year for these test.
1.) Lauren loves to eat bacon so every TAKS test morning I get up early and make her a nice bacon breakfast......ONLY this year I burned it! ha. I bought the already cooked bacon that you just add to the microwave and heat up. WELL, this morning I was super tired and read the directions for cooking it in a skillet. In a skillet you are supposed to cook it for 4 minutes BUT I was cooking it in the microwave which was supposed to be only 24 SECONDS. haha~ The house smelled awful. (still does! Any suggestions?) Thankfully I still had some leftover bacon and cooked it the right way. You can sure count on that tomorrow morning I will read the correct directions!!!

2.) Lauren is a smart, beautiful girl. She does really well at school but sometimes gets test anxiety. Since 3rd grade we have come up with a little plan that we do every year now. The Superstar method. With a sharpie I draw a star on the inside of her hand so that every time she sees that during her TAKS she remembers that mom is praying for her throughout the day and that she will ALWAYS be a Superstar to us! I also draw a star on my hand so that it holds me accountable to praying for my sweet girl throughout the day. I can't tell you how many people see my star that day and ask about it. When I tell them they ask to join me in prayer for her. This warms my heart:) Lauren has loved this idea and it makes her feel so secure in taking that ugly ol' TAKS test.

So tomorrow is the reading TAKS......
~Good Luck Lauren~
We know you will do great Superstar!
We LOVE you.

A Treat from my Sweet!

Guess whose back? Yeah!
My sweet, funny, goofy, and the love of my life bought me a MacBook Pro. I am such a lucky girl to have him. I guess he was tired of me checking my little phone for emails every time it dinged. My old computer is still in the shop. auughh.....it is a pretty nasty virus that got a hold of it. Not sure it will make it home.
This Mac is HARD! So much to learn and get used to. I am sure I will love it once I figure it out. Anyhoo, it feels good to be back in blogger world. I can't wait to catch up with my fave bloggers and meet some new ones.

Have a BLESSED day!

Our Monday Morning Theme Song

The 3L's and I heard this on the radio and died laughing.
This is our theme song in the car some days!

Three Kids in a Car Words & Music Neil Brewer 2006

Three kids in a car on a Monday morn,

each one wishin’ that the others weren’t born,

and they can’t say nothin’ ‘cause they’ve all been scorned –

‘cause their mother’s done had enough.

And the sister sittin’ in the front seat -

(who at this point of the song, you need to know is about 3 months away from gettin’ her

driver’s license) she’s thinkin’ to herself:

I can’t believe that I’m still ridin’ with them –

I hope that we're not seen by some of my friends –

and if by chance, I fail the driver's exam - then, I am running away.

Three kids in a car on a Monday morn,

each one wishin’ that the others weren’t born,

and they can’t say nothin’ ‘cause they’ve all been scorned –

'cause their mother’s done had enough.

And the brother sitting behind her,

(who at this point of the song, you should know is about 5 years younger than she is,

but he’s still two years older than his little brother sittin’ next to him -

he glares down at his little brother and he’s thinkin’ to himself:

I can’t wait 'till our sister's finally gone –

then I’ll sit up front ‘cause that’s where I belong –

and I’ll be rid of you, you miserable worm.

Why don’t you just run away?!

Three kids in a car on a Monday morn,

each one wishin’ that the others weren’t born,

and they can’t say nothin’ ‘cause they’ve all been scorned –

‘cause their mother’s done had enough.

And the little brother - (who, at this point of the song you should know is a whole lot smarter than the other two think he is)

he glares back up at his older brother and he’s thinkin’ to himself:

I know that there’s no body back in the trunk –

You only try to scare me with all that junk –

I hope you read my mind – I think you’re a skunk –

and guess what? I’m not runnin’ away …

And the mother, who’s been drivin’ all this time - she’s thinkin’ to herself ...

things that I'd better not say ... so, we’ll just pretend that she’s thinkin' ...

Oh, what a beautiful day!
