Is it that time already? Oh my, I cannot get over how fast this summer has gone and how fast these kids are growing up! This year Lauren will be in fourth grade and Luke will start kindergarten at Spring Valley Elementary. Two kids in school! When did this happen? I know that they are ready and excited but I think I am not. I just want time to stand still for a moment. I pray that my mind is soaking up tons of memories of the 3L's at this age to remember for a very long time.
My beautiful one and only baby girl is a fourth grader now. I remember when she was the one starting kindergarten. Oh how the tears fell that day! She is turning into this fun, loving, smart, beautiful girl before our eyes. Our lives are so rich with her in it. I pray that she has a WONDERFUL year as a fourth grader. Her teacher is Mrs. Humphrey who seems sooooo sweet and the right fit for Lauren. We love you tootie!
Then there is this little boy named Luke Casey who has the most beautiful eyes and steals my heart each day. Luke is a kindergartner now? Really? Where have I been? I still can remember holding him in the middle of the night as a baby feeding him and singing Lukey's boat. Lauren came up with this song she learned at Kindermusic when we lived in Iowa to sing to Luke. We all quickly learned it and couldn't help but sing it to Luke all the time. It is a silly little song but even today he loves for us to sing it to him.
"Oh, Lukey's boat is painted green,
the prettiest boat I ever did see,
Uh-huh-me-boy,
Oh, Lukey's boat is ten feet tall,
the tallest boat I ever did see,
back to the bottom of the sea"
I know it doesn't make much sense but to us it is Luke's song. So as a I sit her thinking about how fast my Lukey is growing up I can't help but remember all the sweet tender moments with him as a little one. My prayer is that Luke will have a WONDERFUL year of kindergarten and that he will love school. We love you Lukey's boat!
Then there is my handsome baby boy Lanny Bob (our fun name we call him)! He is one of the funniest kids I have ever known. He always makes me smile. He is my cuddle bunny and I thank God everyday for his little warm hugs he gives me. Landry will be going to a wonderful lady named Mrs. Heather. She keeps 3-4 other kids around Landry's age on Monday and Tuesday while I am at work. Even though Landry is old enough to start preK we have decided (and advised) to still keep him around the least amount of kids as possible until we figure out what to do with his allergy. Landry is allergic to ALL antibiotics. (this story is another blog post someday) Landry is excited about going to his little school. The day we bought backpacks he cried all day because he thought THAT DAY he was going to get to go to Mrs. Heather's school. At meet the teacher night with Lauren and Luke he cried all the way down the hall because we were not taking his school supplies to his teacher. Oh my goodness........what am I going to do with this child? You just can't reason with a three year old sometimes! ha. My prayer is that Landry will have the BEST time at his little school and that God will lay his hands of protection on him as the fall/winter months roll in with illness.
This Tuesday is going to be a BIG day here at the Reed house. Back to school! Casey and I can't help but to get teary eyed now when we talk about the 3L's school. How are we going to make it on Tuesday? haha. I think little milestones like this with your children make some of the best memories as a parent. Thank you Lord for my family.......I am truly blessed and I could not ask for more.
Luke's kindergarten teacher Mrs. Fortenberry. This is going to be a great school year for the 3L's!
