Couch to a 5K Running plan.....

I have been following this Couch to a 5K running plan for sometime now. Thanks to my friend Amanda N. who has amazing legs and inspired me! This year I turned 36 and my goal is to run a 5K before I am 40. Yep, it will probably take me that many years to do this. haha! Check out my new shoes. Hey, a girl has to be stylish as she runs?!? I was kind of hoping the pretty shoes would distract passer-bys from my red face!
The plan is supposed to get my hiney off the couch and running 3 miles within 2 months. It works! I am a runner now. woo-hoo! I must say I never really got into running in the past and enjoyed it until now.....well, kind of enjoying it until this week.....let me explain.
It seems there is this nerve that runs down your hiney and into your hip....(Yes, I know I am a nurse. I just must have not really paid much of attention to this in A&P class) Well, if you damage this nerve some how....like running? It causes awful pain! OMStars...it hurts. It isn't a pain that happens all of the time. I can be in the grocery store walking and it all of a sudden hurts. It makes me jump around on one foot with tears in my eyes. You can imagine the looks I get from people as they think I must have stepped on a nail. ha!

My husband thinks it is just my age catching up with me. Stink! he is just the same age as me. (even a month older!) Well, I am writing this post to vent but to remind myself it takes time to heal. I will try again soon to get back into running and hopefully accomplish my 5K goal in the near future. Even moms have dreams too 3L's.

There is a saying in Texas....

"If you don't like the weather, stick around till the next day" or something like that. ha! We have been having some beautiful days this winter here in Texas. The 3L's can't understand why they can't swim yet......maybe cause the water says 50?!? The boys have found a new way to play with the pool, a remote control boat. My little scientist has figured out how to take apart his boat and put it back together again. I asked him the other day what he wanted to do when he grows up and he said "I think I want to build a house for you and dad." Woo-hoo! Sounds good to me. ha!

The sea prowler.
Have a blessed rest of the week!

Superbowl Hoodie Style 2009

What a way to have a Superbowl party....Hubbies at one house and the Hoodies at the other! Our sweet Hoodie gang got together this weekend for some good times. Check out Mindy's blog to get the whole story. She said it perfect! I just wanted to add some more fun pictures to our Hoodie Bowl 2009.
This boy is a heart breaker. Look out little ladies. He is charming!
Haddie Cakes waiting to get this par-tay started!
Our future hoodie quarterback, Brady.

Cheerleaders...Abby, Lauren, and Jillian
BFF in da'Hood
Haddie offering RoRo some cheese puffs. I felt honored because she just doesn't let anyone have some of her puffs!

One of the funniest things was watching Dylan flirt with Mindy. He would say "I wub you Minny" and smile. Oh, he is going to be a ladies man for sure.

Having fun in Haddie's room.

My Hoodie girls plus one little Hoodie in the oven. I can't wait to meet this baby boy!
Well, the men may think that they had it made with their very own house just full of guys watching football. I disagree! This was the house to be at. Fo' sho! We had sooo much fun watching our wild indians play and having some good ol girl talk. I will take that any day!

Did I mention Wild Indians?

Go Green Fireballs!

Yes, you heard right. Go Green Fireballs! This is the name of Luke's team. Hey, this is what ya get when you leave it up to a bunch of 6 year olds to name their team. ha! This is Luke's first year to play basketball. He has so much to learn but he is all smiles running up and down the court. This weekend Luke had a special treat having Meme and Pop come watch his game. So sweet of them to come all this way for a little game.
Luke warming up....and trying to not get hit by a ball! He is #4.

Luke really seemed to be having a good time. He hasn't really caught on that you need to Hustle down the court but he sure knows how to Hustle to the water fountain. Love that Kid!

Luke is BY FAR the tallest kid on his team (at school too).
I don't know if basketball will be Luke's sport to love in the future but he sure is having fun with it now.
Proud Daddy
Landry and Lauren came to cheer on their favorite player.

Sweet Luke, no matter what you do in life or what your niche is I hope you always have fun at it! Mom and Dad will always be your BIGGEST FANS and support anything you decide to do. We are so proud of you and who you are growing up to be. Love you Lukey~Mom and Dad
