Happy 11th Anniversary Honey!

Today is our anniversary and I feel like I did back then. My heart skips a beat when we kiss, seeing you across the room makes me smile, I hang onto every word you speak, etc. My list truly could go on. The only difference now is that we have these beautiful three children. Today I want the world to know how much I still LOVE you! You are my everything and more. Happy 11 wonderful years to the most handsome man who melts me inside and out. I LOVE YOU CHUPE!

What every Mom needs!

Every mom deserves Good girlfriends and a night out with them. My sweet neighborhood friends and I went to the movies last night. We went to see Sex in the City. The movie was packed with other groups of women laughing together. We had a GREAT time and talked all the way home on who we would be in the movie. Mindy-Carrie, Karen-Miranda, Pam-Charlotte, Jeannie-Charlotte, Robin-Charlotte, and Liz-Samantha (you spicy woman!) Really I think all of us have a little bit of each in us. Thanks for the great time last night friends! Let's do this again soon.

Picasso at home!

This summer I have goals to make a fun learning environment for the 3 L's. Like I said goals! Not trying to put to much pressure on myself but they are all at an age where it is easier for me to teach them things together. When Landry was a baby, Luke was 2, and Lauren was 5 I remember that summer was a hard one because their needs and interest where so different. Now that they are older I find it easier to do a project together. Today we talked about painting and did an Internet search of famous painters. (if this sticks who knows! ha) Anyway, we had fun together learning and then getting to paint a little statue together. Here are my little artist hard at work! Like I said this is a goal for the summer so you turkeys don't expect miracles at the Reed's house! haha. Happy Wednesday to you.

Back to Work!

Today was my first day of work at Heart of Brazos Oral and Facial Surgery. After being blessed for so many years of getting to be a stay at home mom I felt like it was time for me to bridge back into nursing. I love nursing and have missed being a nurse over the years. I had prayed for the right job to come along for a couple of years now and it did. I will only work Monday and Tuesdays doing surgery and the rest I get to stay at home with my kiddos. The best of both worlds! Today went really well. Although I wasn't expecting to be thrown into surgery already it made me feel pretty good about myself. I still got it! I am surrounded by some really nice nurses and docs who made today enjoyable. My sweet 3 L's stayed at home with a neighbor girl. Carli is such a great sitter and to hear when I got home of how Landry had the best day with her was the best feeling. It amazes me at times in my life how God really does take care of every detail in prayer.(and some you don't pray about)I thought today was going to be difficult for all of us but it went great! Thank you Lord for your blessings!

Last day of Third Grade!

My sweet Lauren had her last day of third grade today. She woke up this morning so ready for school. They were all going to wear their Spring Valley shirts so they could sign their names on the back of them at the end of the day. Lauren loved this idea so last night at 11 pm I was doing laundry to make sure it was washed. ha! Here is Lauren with two of her best friends, Iris and Hallie. Sweet fourth graders!

Oh, sweet Lauren.....I love you so much. You have grown tremendously this year. You're not a little girl anymore. You are growing into this beautiful loving life girl. To see you smile can stop me from whatever I am doing and admire you. You are a true blessing to me! We love you Tootie!

You can't leave them alone for a minute!

This morning my 5 year old and 3 year old were in their rooms playing so nicely with each other. Just playing cars and having lots of boy fun. I had JUST checked on them before going to make some beds. See what happens when you leave two little boys alone together? ha! I love them anyway!

I have a Kindergartener now!

Luke's last day of pre-K was today. His class had a Luau and the kids had so much fun! Luke has always loved school but this year was extra special to him. He had the most wonderful teacher a parent could ever ask for, Mrs. Mitchell. She always had the best hugs for Luke and loved on him as if he were her own throughout this school year. Luke was so excited about this being his last day of school but sad that this was his last day with Mrs. Mitchell. As we said our good-byes and walked out of that little pre-K room the tears began to fall for me. I can't believe my sweet boy is moving on to kindergarten. Where did time go with him? I can remember so well the day we brought him home from the hospital, the move to Texas when he was 6 months, his first steps, those big blue eyes wanting me to tuck him and his "ye-wo" in. (For those of you who don't know what this is it is a homemade pillow that I made for him when he was one. It was my first attempt to do anything on a sewing machine that my mom had bought for me. Luke loved it and to this day he has a hard time parting with it) When did he turn into this handsome big kid? Where was I? My three sweet children are growing up before me. I am so happy for all the milestones they are reaching but my heart is breaking. Today I stop and say thank you God for your three little blessings! Correction three big blessings. Sniff, sniff! Friday is almost here and it will soon be Lauren's turn to move on to fourth grade. This week is full of sweet and sad times. Again, THANK YOU Lord for these blessings!

Lauren's dance recital video

Sweet Lauren had her dance recital this past weekend. I have been avoiding posting about this because it is so hard to talk about my baby girl growing up! To watch her dance was simply priceless for Casey and I. She wasn't nervous one bit and was all smiles all day long. Lauren is tender hearted, embraces life full force, so caring, little mother, my best friend, beautiful, lights up my world to no end, etc. The list could go one but that is enough tears for me to shed today! ha. Here are pictures of our beautiful baby girl who we LOVE so much!

Mother's day

To be honest I kind of dreaded today. Casey left this morning at 5am to catch a flight to New York for a week. I hate being away from him. He is everything to me. As I lay in bed thinking about all that I have to do this week I heard three little giggling voices coming my way. Lauren, Luke, and Landry crawled in bed with me and gave me the sweetest Mother's day card with lots of hugs and kisses. I was then reminded of the love that Casey and I created. Three precious children who are truly gifts from God. The kids and I got around and went to the Waco zoo for Mother's Day. I loved hearing the laughter, the "Mommy look at the snakes", and little hands that grabbed onto mine as we walked through the zoo. I couldn't ask for more than what I have here. What a gift it is to be their mommy!

Mothers Day Program

I have to share the wonderful gifts that Luke made for me at school. Luke made a special picture of me. It says "the reason why I love my mom is because she is a nurse". I do love being a nurse but not as much as I LOVE being a mom to these sweet three!

The other was a letter about me. He was asked:

Favorite food? Cookies

Favorite book? the Bible

Favorite shows? grown up shows

Things that make mom happy? flowers, hugs, penguin kisses from me, going on dates with daddy

He sure does know me!

Happy Mothers Day to all of my wonderful friends! A special wish to my own mom who means the world to me. Not only is she my mom but she is my best friend. I only hope to be half the mom she is! Happy Mother's Day mom! Love you~Rob

Luke's Mothers Day brunch 08

Today was one of the sweetest reminders of why I love being a mom. Luke's school had a program for all of the mommies. It was hard fighting back the tears watching my big boy sing to me!

Lauren's 3rd grade track/field day

Lauren had her track/field day at Midway stadium. She has been looking forward to this day for one reason. She was picked to do the 400 relay. She did a SUPER job and we are so proud of her! The boys and I went to watch. Her team came in second place. Way to go Lauren!

Hawkeye Lukey

I found this shirt at a grocery store today for Luke. It cost $1. ha! Luke was born in Iowa City, Iowa. We got him to Texas as fast as we could. jk!

Appy and Gma came to visit

It was so nice having my mom and grandmother here this past week. They helped take care of the kids while I took a nursing test. It is always a blessing when they come to Waco! I wish we lived closer to them because I miss them so much. While they were here they got to attend one of Luke's baseball games. He was pretty excited about that.

Oh to be a kid again!

This past weekend Casey and I came across a tent at Walmart. We couldn't wait to get it home and put it up in the backyard. The kids had so much fun. Hours and hours of in and out that tent with stuffed animals, books, sleeping bags, cars, you name it! It was like their own little house in the backyard. Casey and I enjoyed watching them and their little imaginations at play.

Bluebonnets in Central Texas

I love spring! One of the perks of living in Central Texas is the beauty you see on the side of the roads. I will never forget in the Spring of 2003 Casey and I left Lauren and Luke with grandparents in Iowa as we flew to look for a house in Texas. We had been wanting to move back to our home state since the day we left in 1999. God had answered our prayers to be closer to family. I had never been to Waco all my life so as we were getting closer to Waco I saw the most beautiful purplish-blue flowers all over the side of the roads. It was icing on the cake to me! Every since we have lived here now I get a picture of my children in the wild flowers. It reminds me of God's beauty. The beautiful flowers and our beautiful children. Here are some of this years bluebonnet pictures.
