Welcome to the Hood Bryce Ethan!

Sweet baby Bryce was born this morning at 8:45. He was set to come on the 12th for an induction but this precious gift from God had other plans. This morning at 6ish we received a phone call from his daddy. Casey and I kept big sister and big brother while Liz and David rushed off to the hospital. Oh, I tell you friends...there just isn't anything like welcoming a new baby into the world is there?
Welcome to the world Bryce!
We are already head over heels for you.

I had a date with....

not one but two handsome little men in my life! Luke, Landry, and I had a date Friday night as sister was at a birthday party and daddy was flying home from New York. It was so much fun. I hope they ask me out again! We started off with dinner at DQ (Dairy Queen for my non Texan friends). They even opened the door for me. What gentlemen! (yikes...I was looking a little rough from a long week without daddy in this picture)
Then my dates asked me if they could buy me some ice cream at Cold Stone...well, unfortunately both of my dates didn't have their piggy banks on them so I asked if it would be ok if this once I could pay for the ice cream. They didn't seem to mind and asked for sprinkles, M & Ms, gummy worms, etc. Boy, were they an expensive date but soooooo worth it!

Luke, you are going to make a perfect date for some sweet girl in the future. You are so thoughtful in asking that I go first and pulling out my chair for me. Maybe you might need to work on not getting so much of your ice cream on your shirt but you were such a little gentlemen. Thank you sweet boy for the wonderful date!
Landry, you will also make a perfect date someday for a sweet little girl in the future. You love to make me laugh and can keep the conversation lively! Maybe work on a little less "bugger" talk. ha! Thank you sweet boy for my wonderful date!

Time is going by too fast with you two boys. I will look up one day and remember this date and how it isn't a date with me anymore but some little girl. I loved every minute with you two! I think for now on we will set aside a "Mommy Date" every month.
I love you two boys~Mom

Yeah! Daddy is coming home.

I have a total new respect to ALL single moms out there! I already knew you must be amazing women but now I think you must be Super Heroes. Ha! This past month has been hard on our family. Casey's job had him travel back and forth to New York this past month. He spends about a week there and then gets a week off before he has to go back. The 3L's and I have been missing him so much. Tonight he will be home and we just can't wait. I have a Honey-do list a mile long but that can wait! We need some daddy love first.

Don't get me wrong, I am so thankful for his job. There was a time a few weeks ago that they had a massive layoff and we wondered if he would get to keep his. I know there are so many families out there today who are struggling to find jobs in today's world. I think about how easy we could be in their shoes........so I say Thank You heavenly Father for this job!
We are just excited to have him home and spend time with him!

Two beautiful talented women....

I have gotten to know and I want to brag on their talents. A few weeks ago I got an email from Marianne. I have been following Marianne's Caring Bridge Journal of her daughter Makenna for about a year now. Makenna's story (click on the bold to go to her site)
This is an AMAZING story of a little girl right here in my town who has had 4 brain surgeries. She is a living miracle! Let me say that God is truly amazing in many ways. This past Halloween Marianne's family came trick or treating at my house. I had never met this family but have prayed over them so many times. When I saw this beautiful little girl in her chair I knew it was Makenna. She has the most beautiful smile. It was SUCH a sweet honor to meet this family in person! I admire Marianne as a mom and all that she goes through. If you get a chance I would love for you to read about their story.
A couple of weeks ago I got an email from Marianne that she loved my blog layout and wanted to know if I could help her with a project. I was thrilled to help but I am still so new at this blogging thing so I remembered a blogger friend I have gotten to know. I love following Tara and her Little Princess, Kenley Ourprincessinpigtails It just so happens that Tara is an amazing blog designer too! She designed my button that I am so proud of.
Blog Makeovers by Tara

Tara blessed Marianne with a beautiful blog. Thank you Tara for all that you did for her. You really are so talented and I feel so lucky to have made such a sweet friend in blogging world! Check out her site if you want a new FUN look!
Just for getting these two ladies in touch Marianne has blessed me with one of her art work pieces for my house. How nice was that? I am lovin it! I get so many compliments over it. Check out her site to see all of her art work pieces she can make. What a great teacher gift, baby shower, or birthday gift these would make. beautifullyframed Thank you Marianne! You and your family will forever be in my prayers. I know that life is tough at times for you. I just want you to know how much you are loved and prayed for each day!

We are just like any family....

we have our moments.....3 L's arguing, kids not listening, not taking care of their toys, dirty looks (which always gets you into trouble) etc. Just when you think you aren't getting through to them something like this happens.
A note out of the blue.

Aww...thank you Lord for a little reminder that they are listening and do get it!

Looking back....

at a few pictures from the past of my sweet little guy makes me smile. This shirt is SO you! You are definitely up to something all the time.

Those big brown eyes melt our hearts in a hurry!

Oh sweet boy how we love you!
Tonight you are still struggling with your cold. I think it is just passing around the house to the 3L's. To hear you cough and whimper breaks your momma's heart. I am thankful that it is just a cold. I don't think I could handle what we go through with you when you need antibiotics right now. I still believe God has an answer for us on that!
You must be something special to us cause we don't let just anyone eat pizza in our bed. ha! (well, your brother and sister)

Sweet dreams Landry Love. I hope tomorrow is a better day for you~Love, Mom and Dad

Nothing like a Redneck baby shower for a Hoodie!

Some of our dearest best friends-Hoodies-neighbors are expecting a baby boy in March. This will be #3 for them. They are catching up to the Reeds! woo-hoo. We came up with a plan on how to celebrate this exciting time for them.....a Redneck baby shower! Now let me just say, you can't just throw anyone a Redneck shower and they love it. ha! David and Elizabeth have kept us all rolling over the years with their Earl and Earleen impressions. They even came dressed up to a Halloween party one year as our favorite backwoods Redknecks. Having a picture of this gave us the perfect idea on what to do for their cake. (oh how the bakers at HEB laughed!) La Fiesta made the prefect place to have our couples shower. We decorated with only the finest decor you can buy....well, maybe not! Feed sacks for the guest of honor chair, cut outs of Earleen blown up with an arrow pointing to baby, Boones bottles with flowers, all the present wrapped in Walmart sacks and laundry baskets....this was probably one of the easiest baby showers ever planned. ha!

The budlight box was really a gift inside....a little onesie that said "New kid in da'Hood"

Of course some of the guest wore their best outfits.
The Redneck Hostess group
Me and my favorite redneck. Yea, he is all mine! haha.
Mindy and Troy
Karen and Trey
Trudi and Jeff
Beautiful Liz! All the Hoodie girls
David and the Hoodie Men
David and Elizabeth were the BEST sports on letting us throw them a surprise redneck shower! This little boy is going to be blessed with two wonderful parents. I know how much they are a blessing to my family. We love everything about them and will love this little Earl too when he gets here!!! (by the way the bottles are more decor)
David you "Got Er Done"

Liz, if you are reading this I want you to know how much I love you dearly friend. You are beautiful in every way! My prayers are with you during this exciting time. Praying for a healthy baby boy and a smooth delivery. I am oncall for you! If you need a Hoodie...even in the middle of the night...I will send Casey. ha! You know I am kidding...I am there!!! Hoodie Hugs~TR
