First Homecoming Date for Lauren 2011

I can't believe my baby girl had her first Homecoming date! To be honest, we had no plans of letting her
" go " with boys till she was much, much older. Lauren and Gage have been in school together since 1st grade. They used to play on the playgrounds at recess together and have even carved their names in the wooden boat on the playground in the second grade. Just good friends. Well, in 6th grade hormones started bubbling and gage asked her to "go with her" at PE and then ran away. ha! We have gotten to know Gage and his family. He really is a sweet kid and is very respectful of Lauren. So, when he asked her to Homecoming we said yes....... She had a great time!

Today is the Day!

Yes, I am back......for good blogger world! I have tried often to come back to my blog, but found it was just not the right time. Too much going on at the Reed house. Full time school nurse, CPR teaching, being a mom, being a wife, trying to find balance...........I took some time off to get on my feet with my life. Now I am ready to catch up. Plenty of pictures and post to catch up on!  I am finding that with each new post I am working on I can see how God gave me "just enough" to make it through each one of these blessed days with my family and friends. I have been soaking in life and loving each journey! Now don't get me wrong it isn't always sunny days in my little world. I just have been making the most of my days!

Today is the Day You have made, I will rejoice and be glad in it!

Lauren's First Dance 2011

Oh my, when you go to the store with your teenage daughter to look for a Halloween costume for the big dance coming up, know that just because you think you are buying the modest outfit you can find for her size and age will LOOK different on her little teenage body. It was all I could do to keep her daddy from going to the dance with her!

Of course, we had to have some fun with the brothers.
Lauren was the cop and Gage was the bad guy.

They had a fun time!

Cross Counrty 2011

Cross Country running.........Go, Lauren Go!!!!
We are soooo proud of this hard working girl. She made the MMS Cross Country Team!
To see this long legged beautiful blondie running makes me think back to the little 5 pound baby I held in my arms 13 years ago. The tiny baby whose little legs weren't even long enough to fit in her tiny pink baby girl pjs. Wow, God is amazing! To see my daughter grow and run with all her heart is amazing. Such a gift from the Lord.

Proud Daddy!
Proud Mommy!
2011-2012 MMS Cross Country girls team
Gage.....the little boy who has stolen my daughters heart. More to come on him!
2011-2012 MMS CC Team
District meet and the final meet!

Go Lauren!!! There were over 100 girls running.
She ran all over the Golf Course and never walked once!

Dad couldn't make it so her first phone call was to call her #1 fan. She did awesome on her time!
Congrats girls!!!
Lauren and Gage

Until next year........

Boys Night vs. Girls Night

Every once in a while there comes a time in our house when the boys have to be boys and the girls have to be girls! What does that mean?

Boys = Texas Rangers game in Dallas, hot dogs, sun and yelling for your favorite team.

Girls = Dinner at Red Lobster, shopping, shopping, and shopping. Oh, did I say shopping yet? ha!
I love my family!

Cherished Moments

I took these one night with my iphone when daddy was out of town and I had a new bed partner. One day this little boy will become a big ol teenager boy and not want to crawl in bed with his mom. I am cherishing these tender little boy moments!

Spring Valley Alumni

Look who wanted to visit their old elementry school? My 7th grade daughters! Lauren and Hallie (my daughter from another mother, ha!) came to help out with the Fall Festival Carnival. The sweet girls have been best friends since Kindergarten. They fight like sisters, share secrets, and have each others back.  Lauren, like me, has 2 brothers and no sisters. Hallie has filled that void in her life. As they are getting older I can tell that their likes and dislikes are changing. A little boy is in the picture now and it is sometimes hard for Lauren to find balance between him and her BFF. My sweet girl is growing up. She is learning that you still need your girlfriends no matter what. I thank God for these two and pray over their relationship. I think they will always be Best Friends Forever!

Spring Valley 2011 Pumpkin Contest

In October, Luke's school had their annual pumpkin decorating contest. He has won in the past so he had the taste of victory and was determined to do it again. After much thought on what he would do, he went with a Pirate from the Lego book Pirates of the Caribbean. Oh boy, time to get creative.
That he did! Luke worked hard on his pumpkin. I have to say we were impressed with his outcome! (yes, a little help from mom but this sweet boy did a lot of the work)

Well, It may not have come in 1st place, but this sweet kid is 1st place in his mommas heart! Good job, Luke!!!
